Kids Gym

Today is Wednesday, and what do we do on Wednesdays? We go to, as Maddie still refers to it, as Tiny Tots. But in fact a few months ago she graduated to kids Gym, but according to Maddie, it's still Tiny Tots, so whatev.

Maddie does really well in her class. I really think it has been so good for her. She is SO cautious, with everything she does, so gymnastics has really helped her conquer some "fears" and has also, with preschool, helped her open up a little bit and not be so shy.

Today, I had the GENIUS idea of whipping out my iphone and filming her while she's doing her thing. I don't know why I haven't thought of it before. Just the other day, Brian and I were talking about how we haven't been filming her enough through out the day like we should.

As far as gymnastics go, there is plenty of room for improvement, but hey, she's not even 3 yet. Plus, she REALLY enjoys it. Today, I was able to capture a little fumble on video. She was doing donkey kicks, and she kicked to high and fell over backwards. You can kind of hear me laughing, but I knew she was ok.

Snow Day

We had our FIRST snow day this winter. It started Sunday morning. We were sitting in church during second service and one of the elders was giving his closing thoughts and he said (not in these exact words) "the weather report said it wasn't supposed to start snowing until later this afternoon, but as I look through the front doors, I can see that it has already started" The whole church turned their heads to look behind them and see the snow falling through the glass doors. I think everyone said "AAWW" at the same too.

It was so pretty. Snow is always so pretty. We went to lunch, (Panera Bread. I think we go there more than anywhere else. I also think it's Maddie's favorite. The kids meal is ORGANIC turkey and cheese with organic yogurt. I think she loves it more then Chick-fil-a. Or Chick-a-lay as she calles it.) After lunch we came home, changed Maddie's clothes and took her outside to play in the snow.

January

About a few days before Christmas, Maddie came down with a bad cold, she had fever, a cough that sounded like croup (fortunately it wasn't) and your general lethargy when it comes to being sick. We took her to Acute Kids Care, then again to her pediatrician and got a prescription for her cough. During our trip, she felt much better, but of course she had a lingering cough that lasted FOREVER, which caused her to wake up several times during the night. Which leads me to what has been happening ever since we've been back.

Ever since we've been back from Oklahoma, she's been waking up in ungodly hours of the night like 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. and screaming for me outside my door. When I come out and ask her whats wrong, she immediately stops crying and these are the responses I have been receiving:
1) "I want some water" (her water is in her bed with her)
2) "I want to role over"
3) "I teetee'd in my diaper" (we are potty training)
4) "I..............." This response is for when she hasn't thought through what she needed before she decided to wake me up.
It has been a crazy week, and I'm looking forward to uninterrupted sleep through out the night.

As mentioned earlier, something we started working on this week is potty training. I have tried before, last summer, but I felt like she wasn't quite ready. But I am happy to report that we have been making progress. The first time she went all by herself was Monday, Jan. 3rd. (This is mainly for me to remember.)

She has been doing well ever since we started with few accidents, and sometimes not wanting to stop playing, but its only been a week, and I am glad we are moving right along.
